Costs start at the third false alarm
Laguna Niguel counts false alarms by calendar year.
Under section 11-3-700, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department collects costs from the subscriber or operator of any alarm system that signals three or more false alarms within a calendar year. The costs are the Sheriff’s Department’s costs of responding, and the amount is set by City Council resolution (section 11-3-703).
Because the amount is set by resolution and can change, confirm the current false alarm fee with the city or Laguna Niguel Police Services.
Two free calls. Under the code, costs apply from the third false alarm in a calendar year, so the first two do not trigger the charge.
Laguna Niguel Police Services

Homes near open space
With so much open space in the city, outdoor cameras and well-placed sensors matter.
We position cameras and motion sensors to cover entry points without being set off by wildlife or moving brush, and we train every user on the system. The Alarm.com app lets you cancel a mistake from your phone.
