Does Chino require an alarm permit?
We found no city alarm permit requirement in the Chino Municipal Code.
Chino handles alarms through a false alarm service charge instead of a user permit. The rules are in Chino Municipal Code Chapter 9.51, Police False Alarm Response. The business license title of the code has no alarm permit chapter either.
That means there is no city registration to file before your system goes live. Your false alarm history at the address is what counts.

Three responses a year, then a charge
Chino charges from the fourth false alarm police response in a fiscal year.
- The count runs by fiscal year, July 1 through June 30.
- A service charge applies to the fourth and each later police response to a false alarm at the same premises (CMC 9.51.020).
- The charge is paid by the person who possesses the premises.
- The city mails a monthly bill, due within 15 days. Unpaid charges become delinquent 15 days after they are due (CMC 9.51.030 and 9.51.040).
The amount is set by City Council resolution, so confirm the current charge with the city.
What counts. Alarms caused by extraordinary weather or atmospheric conditions are not counted as false alarms under CMC 9.51.010.
Chino Police Department
Chino has its own municipal police department.
When our central station verifies an intrusion alarm at a Chino address, the call goes to the Chino Police Department at 5450 Guardian Way, Chino, CA 91710. The department’s main line is 909-334-3000, and non-emergency dispatch is 909-628-1234.

Staying under the fiscal year allowance
Three no-charge responses a year is room for a mistake, not a habit.
We test every zone at installation, set entry and exit delays that fit your household, and train each user on the keypad and the Alarm.com app. The app lets you see and cancel an accidental alarm from your phone.
Practical step. Give every regular user their own code so a forgotten code never turns into a dispatch.
