Every residence and business with an alarm needs a permit from the City of Ontario False Alarm Program.

The program runs through the Ontario Police Department, with registrations handled by Phoenix Group LLC. Apply online at ontarioca.seamlessdocs.com/w/alarm, or mail the application to City of Ontario False Alarm Program, 2500 S. Archibald Ave., Ontario, CA 91761.

The city’s 2021 application form lists a $25 one-time application fee, or $12 for qualified senior, veteran, low-income or disabled applicants. Confirm the current amount when you apply.

FALSE ALARMS

Ontario charges from the first false alarm

There is no free allowance. False alarms are counted over the preceding 12 months.

Per the city’s application form updated 11/2021:

  • Registered burglary: $50 (1st), $75 (2nd), $297 (3rd), $305-$322 (4th and later)
  • Unregistered burglary: $150 (1st), $175 (2nd), $297-$322 (3rd and later)
  • Robbery or panic: $100 per occurrence

The city warns that failing to register results in additional fees or fines. These amounts come from the 2021 form, so confirm current fees with the program.
