The City of San Diego requires burglar alarm systems to be registered with its alarm program.
The police alarm permit is $31 a year, raised from $20 on July 1, 2025. False alarm fines are set by San Diego Municipal Code 33.3712. Police alarm permits: 619-531-2274.
Outside the city: other cities in the county, and unincorporated areas policed by the San Diego County Sheriff, have their own rules. We check yours before we install.
